With generous support from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Five Colleges, Inc. launched the Five College Blended Learning (5CollBL) initiative in 2014 to support and encourage teaching that engage the arts, humanities, and humanistic social sciences with digital technologies. In 2017, 5CollBL joined with the Five College Digital Humanities program to form 5collBLDH. As part of our combined efforts, 5CollBL continues to work across our communities to enrich blended learning pedagogy within and beyond the classroom.

Faculty and Staff

5CollBL provides support and resources for faculty and staff to introduce digital materials into the classroom. Through our faculty and staff programs, we offer consultation on course design and blended learning technologies as well as providing examples of blended courses and course materials through our digital repository.

Community
5CollBL cultivates interest in blended learning throughout and beyond the Five College community. Through our projects, events, and especially our repository of resources, we support practitioners – both first time experimenters and those experienced in blended learning – to enrich their courses with digital materials.

Our Organization
Our staff and advisory committee implements and oversees the Five College Blended Learning program. Together, we form a cohort of domain and technical experts available for consultation on BL projects as well as center of a network of BL practitioners across the Five Colleges.
